Someone just wrote me and asked “what’s the point of ebay monster?” – My first reaction was: DON’T YOU SEE IT?
Then I realized that maybe some of you don’t.  It’s all about the long tail keywords really… but let’s put this into a ROI perspective.

Taking a few minutes to run Ebay Monster (lite or full) could put thousands of pages on your blogs.  Sure by the time you get visitors the ‘auction’ they are looking at is gone – but once they click through to ebay – guess what?

They are going to keep looking.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now – and even new blogs are making a few cents a day.  It’s enough that I don’t have to be all commercial all over the place. I make a category – put in the related products from ebay and move on.

(hint – want to be really sneaky?  There are a few plug ins for wordpress that let you exclude categories from showing up on the front page. So you have a blog that appears 100 percent white hat – with a few thousand extra ‘product’ pages. — do a google search for “exclude pages plug in”.)

Ninja Swords <— That’s a great example of how great this works.  He didn’t flood his blog with thousands of pages  – and just added some great relevant content Ninja Sword content that his visitors ARE interested in.

(greg – assuming you don’t mind the link since you referenced it in the comments)

Hi, I believe this type of thing will get you banned from using the ebay affiliate network eventually as they are not a fan of thin affiliate sites. Further to this, Google will not value this type of site in the long run so if you are using this to gain links to more whitehat money sites, the link value will be shortlived.

If you’re plan is for short term income, then eBay Monster *may* be a good option but for long term, I would not count on it – therefore building these sites are a waste of time.

However, I may be wrong, if I am please feel free to add your thoughts.

    Dan,

First off :) — This is a black hat forum. Lot’s of our folks DO things for the short term.

However, I don’t view these as short term and in my experience so far there is no need too. Since there is real content on the blog and this is just sort of a “marketplace” category or two — I doubt it’s even going to be considered a “thin” site if it gets reviewed.

As I mentioned using the “exclude category” plug in of your choice is even going to let you hide the ebay products from the casual visitor (and probably even the ebay person who would check).

Hey this is really cool guys! I’ve read that seo empire post eli wrote over and over again and now you are actually taking people through the steps. Again….very cool.

I would join if it wasn’t so much damn money every month….too much for me. But if I had it I would definitely sign up. I’m sure your members are going to benefit.

    @ Dan,

dude, there is no such thing as ‘long term’ on the internet anyways. Just because someone builds a white hat site doesn’t mean that the site will be around forever. Look at all the WH’s who built up sites when link exchanges where considered WH. Now they are all F*cked!

    @ Chris -

No need to join NSS 2 – I’ve made Blackhatdigest pretty stand alone. While I did start this for them and mention things available only to them – it’s something you can do with out.
