I did something today that I normally don’t do very often anymore.  I spent some time at digital point and warrior forum.  For those of you who have been on the newsletter for a long time you are going to see a lot more posts going directly to your e-mail inbox than being posted here.  Why?  I just love seeing my posts being sold for money :)

Makes me so happy I tend to just get all bubbly (sarcasm)……… so I’ll be doing more e-mail delivered posts.  That means if you aren’t on the newsletter you should get on it asap.  It’s going to take you months to get to some of the new content.

Anyway – what are we going to do today?  Today I was busy.  Had a lot going on with the kids and the new puppy, and I was just having a yuck day.  I didn’t feel like doing anything since I’ve got the sniffles.  Figured I’d drop about 50 bucks and get a site making some money.

So I spent 8.29 on a domain name.

So I headed over and generated a site with the adverev system.  Nothing fancy – it’s one of the “jeep” sites that uses a shareasale datafeed and automotive content to generate a big fat site.  Just having it in the adverev system will get it links over time…. but you should always do extra promotion for anything you have going on.  It’s not very expensive.

Cost to me about $16 dollars.

I headed over to odesk and set up a project for bidding to promote the site.  I asked for a a mix of promotional methods and a report when they are done.

Cost $25 dollars.

Total – less than $50

Time – less than 15 minutes.

Let’s say that through the course of this year I only make 100 dollars profit on the site.   Not a unrealistic assumption since it is a big site, has a ton of content, and has links pointing to it…. along with a slowly growing link profile from adverev.  That means that those 15 minutes of my time will turn into $50 dollars profits…. or about $200 per hour.  Ohh I should note that I’ve got about 200 “adverev” type sites and I know they make money faster if you dump more links at them why wouldn’t I do it?

Sure it takes a few minutes to set up.  Sure I had to pay out of pocket to speed things up.  Sure I might have to dump some more promotion at it down the road. Sure that the more I put into it the more I make per hour.  That’s o.k. with me – I can’t build links through any non-automated way faster than what it’s worth for me to pay an outsourcer.
