Who else wants/has a Kindle?
Wednesday, January 13th, 2010I’m thinking about getting a kindle (I read a lot). Any of you have one? Like it? Hate it?
Might also do a little contest to “win” a kindle when I get mine so shoot some ideas over through the comments here.

I was looking at the sony readers in the mall. Can’t decide what I want to do either.
Barns and Noble is coming out with one as well I read.

Love it. Bought it for myself about a month ago. I’ve read 5 books on it since. Sadly, I hadn’t read 5 books total the previous 11 months.you only need wireless when you download books… otherwise it stays off. I charge it once every 2 weeks — but the battery level is typically around 50% when I do… good shight.

A friend of mines sister has one, he thought it
was cool enough to buy one for his wife. She travels a lot.
I’ve read a lot about them and told my wife it
would make a nice Christmas present.
Her response was what do you need that for
for? You have a computer filled with information
that you can download to your laptop if
you want it portable.
You’re correct, I did not get one for Christmas.

Ed,
I’d love to have a Kindle! Even though most people down here in lower slower Delaware don’t know what they are!

Well not a whole lot of comments for the amount of traffic so far – so either no one wants a kindle or they don’t have an opinion
Need more ‘interest’ to even consider running the contest.

Me want kindle too – especially if I win one
I’ve got one basic cellphone, a second one (touch pro) for phone as a modem. A laptop, a desktop, a flip video camera and a zune (awesome!)…
Adding a special gadget just to read all of the books that are currently sitting on my shelf is on the “to contemplate” list.

I’m an avid book reader and love to keep up on the latest gadgets and gizmos. When I first saw the Kindle it peeked my curiousity since I love to read so much. After reading the reviews and pondering the price all day, I took the plunge. I’m SO happy I did!
I ordered a light and the beautiful leather Cole Han case for it (glad I decieded to get the case even though it’s $$) and had it shipped together. Well, I got it much sooner than I thought. I couldn’t wait to get started. The battery was almost fully charged upon receipt so I turned it on and I was in business. It was so user friendly I didn’t even need the instructions. I downloaded my first book and have been entranced ever since. I haven’t gone anyplace without it, and I think we’ll be inseparable forever. I can’t wait to show it off. I have arthritis in my thumbs and it’s uncomfortable for me to hold a book opened for any length of time. With my Kindle, no problem.
Reading in bed is much more enjoyable too, no more adjusting the booklight every time I go to the next page. At first I thought I would for sure want a backlit screen, but after using it, I don’t think that would work. This thing is so easy on the eyes, I like it better than an actual book. 400,000 books and conversion of docs too. If you have ANY doubts about this ingenious gadget, I’m telling you, just do it! You won’t be sorry!

I forgot to say that it would be fantastic to win one for my disabled friend who stays in most of the time and spends many hours reading.

I definitely want a Kindle! Send me a unit and I’ll help you run a competition on your site related to making money with the device.
This would involve more than just selling public domain or PLR on Amazon. There has to be other creative ways to generate income using the gadget.
Perhaps we can learn enough to create a new product or service for the larger universe of Kindle owners.
Obviously I need to hack around on a Kindle before I can put together any type of competition, etc. I would already own one but it hasn’t been a priority yet. You can push it to the top of my list.
