Codebank – Automatic WordPress Installation
Monday, July 19th, 2010One of our Codebank Projects is creating a mass wordpress installation system. I’ve created 100o’s of wp installs over the years using various methods – and frankly I’m tired of doing it with systems I don’t enjoy using.
So this is a big thing for me – I want it bad and so do a bunch of the codebank members. However, of course I’d love to have this be a commercial project OUTSIDE of codebank to help fund even bigger things.
So……….. what would your ideal mass wordpress installation project be? What features do you want? etc..
Currently it’s going to take you being comfortable installing a dummy WP install, extracting the database, and doing about 5 find and replaces……. then you can have any plugins, themes, etc.. that you want. Sound like something you can handle with instructions?

Well I’ve never used back up buddy – but I’ve used most of the systems out there as of a few months ago. Every single one was buggy or didn’t give the features really needed to mass create blogs.
With this tool it’s more of a way to set up hundreds of auto blogs for example. Not to back up/restore a single install.
I like to fill up a VPS server in a weekend, not baby sit through 100 installs.
Back up dummy do that? If so I’ll pick it up and check it out.
