So I’ve never made it a secret that I like Bookmarking Demon for my grey/black hat needs.  What I don’t think I’ve done is go over how to REALLY game things with the latest version of BD.

Here are some of the highlights of the new version (in my mind):

1.) Auto Join a ton of social bookmarking sites.

2.) Spider your sites and grab meta data to populate things.

3.) Randomness (important I think).

Here is how most people use Bookmarking Demon.

Fire it up, join the networks, spam them, forget about it, and never do it again.

This is HOW YOU SHOULD DO IT.

Fire up bookmarking demon.

Join everything.

Log into everything, and fill out a profile page, add a picture, interact with community if you can.  This takes umm — forever.  About a day to do 100 sites.

However, you lend yourself some credibility, your internal pages in the social bookmark site have more internal links coming to them, etc..  All in all it’s worth it.  Create a bookmarks folder and put all these sites in there.  Of course keep your username and password somewhere.

Do it all over again.  Yes you heard me. Do it again, with different usernames.

If you are feeling froggy — do it again and again.  Before you ever bookmark a single site of your own.

At the end of this process (yes it’s hard work — farm it out if you want to someone else who has Bookmarking Demon and have them send you the saved files to load into your own copy).  I’ve actually paid my older kids to do this for me :)   They also sit here and fill out the captcha forms.  I pay more than Mcdonalds after all.

That’s when you have Bookmarking Demon spider your sites and start posting.

You can of course always just create your spam accounts, fire away, and move on.  I’ve just found spending the extra time to fill things out and have even a MINOR presence on the bookmark sites adds to the power of the links.

Since your spaming all your sites over time, it’s worth it to put the little bit of effort in.

Bookmarking Demon isn’t free, but I’ve been using it for years now and it’s had regular updates, and is still effective.

  1. I’d love to see a more complete tutorial on BMD best practices. This was a good start though. I don’t get nearly enough out of my copy of BMD.

You’ve covered the initial accounts generating phase, but then there are an awful lot of options in BMD when its time to spider. Like how often you run it, mixing in spidering of other sites, proxies(does Vidalia work for this), etc.

I’m still playing with the new version – figuring out a “best practice” so to speak. Don’t have enough info yet to say how frequently to do things.

I’ll certainly make a few more posts about it as time goes on though.

I really am still confused about the pros and cons of this software, i would only be intrested if there is going to be a large increase in SERPs

  4. admin says:

There aren’t many “tools” out there that are going to give you a huge increase in serps except for consistent “work”.

I’ve found though that BMD is great for getting indexed, and the way we use it (pretty much outlined above) does work for me.

I don’t just use BMD – you can pretty much see what we do here by going through the 30 day guide.

I’m wondering if this is worthwhile if I’m using SENuke for all my bookmarking, etc.? Do you think it is worth the extra money?

    • admin says:

Hard to say – I haven’t used SEnuke since it came out (very unpolished back then). I do believe it bookmarks correct? Probably over kill then.
