I was poking around on some ‘science’ forums and blogs the other day helping my daughter find some information for a school project.  Spent a lot more time on it than I should because I found a bunch of posts and topics and how the internet is changing the way people think, and behave.

In effect the new digital age is going to favor those with the inate ability to multi-task the best.  No longer will the ability to slowly do a task until it’s done completely right.

(I see BIG evidence with my kids that this is the case in their generation at least)

Oddly enough it seems that this mind set favors the “black hat” webmaster more.  Since most black hats just throw shit at the wall till something sticks – and are managing and running dozens or even thousands of web sites it seems that this fits the “multi tasking” method much better.

Have ADD?  Be a Black Hat Webmaster

Anal?  Like to be a perfectionist?  Be a white hat webmaster that concentrates on one or two sites.

Lazy?  Go on welfare

Don’t fight evolution – just do what your mind and body are capable of.

I know that if I just had one or two sites I would get bored REALLY fast.  Heck I don’t think I’m even capable of going to work for anyone else anymore.  I’m used to working, eating, sleeping, etc… when I want (and when my kids let me).  I think I would go crazy if I had to work for someone else for 8 hours straight.  In fact I can’t recall the last time I sat at my desk for more than 1 hour straight.

(In fact I stopped at that sentence and walked around a bit – back now.  Since I don’t have anything important to add, I’ll just post this now)
