Figured I’d just pop up a little warning here.  I’ve been having connection issues for days and the cable co.  has diagnosed the problem to the actual wires in the house.  Can’t seem to get an electrician to come out for a little job like this so I’ll be doing it with a buddy of mine this evening.

(you figure with the crappy economy the electricians would be jumping on a paid job right?)

Anyway, I was a plumber for 10 years, and my buddy does roofing, decks, kitchen remodels, etc…  I figure between the two of us how hard could it really be to rerun a wire through the house :)   It’s only 3 floors… right?

So if you never see me post again it’s because I’ve found a way to electrocute myself with coaxial cable.

Really just posting this because I know most of my clients pop in here all the time, and I’m going to be awol for the rest of the day, and into tomorrow if things don’t go well and I’ve got to find someone else.

One Response to Connection Issues

Well I had a lot of fun re-wiring the house. The best part really was hanging out in the attic with the squirrels :)

(no joke – apparently we have/had squirrels living in the attic. So I also had to sweep, clean, and repair the vent up there).

I wish I could have said it fixed the problem. But it didn’t. The cable company installed a “booster” or something and the guy was here for hours and hours. No damn clue what they are doing out there – but I seem to have a connection.

Talking with some of the neighbors I’m not the only one having problems. So we are going to band together and all call in every day and point out that the neighbors are having intermittent issues until this is fixed.

I figure at least half a dozen people in the same developement calling out a repair guy every day would have to be more expensive then fixing whatever “hub” is the issue :)
