Well it happens to all of us I assume.  A lack of motivation, or if you will a lack of inspiration.  I think that many webmasters overlook the fact that it actually takes some inspiration to make ‘la cash’ on-line.

I used to (in the old days of 1 year ago), dig into a niche after seeing what the networks had to offer go out and build a mini net.  The process isn’t a big secret – I’ve talked about it before on this blog…. but a refresher.

Pick a niche or offer.

Find my keywords.

Buy my domains.

Spread em out on a few hosts.

Add content and some way to pay the rent.

Promote

Might take a days work to get a network of 10 sites out there – might take a week.  Still I have to come up with some viral way of links continuing to build – I’ve talked about that too.  Usually in my case that’s going to be some auto blogs, rss feeds, etc… By nature I’m a lazy ass black hat right?

Inspiration has been lacking recently – and here is why.

I log into a network, and the good offers are all negative rebills.  Example.  I promote a free acai berry product, I get 40 bucks for getting someone to take advantage of a free trial or a shipping/handling offer.  How the heck can this company afford to pay me 40 bucks, and give away product?  The answer is simple – they rebill them, sell their cc info, bury in a “membership” to something (or several somethings) for 29.99 a month.  End result is that I helped someone get scammed out of money.

An example of street markets accepting credit ...

(TRUE STORY:  A few months ago my wife actually did a acai berry offer on-line.  She paid $3.95 for a months of pills or something.  It came in the mail I saw it – I threw it away after explaining the scam, and my concerns that the shady company could be putting who the hell knows what in the pills.  (if there is rat crap in our peanuts — well you get the drift).  The bottle of pills came in a unmarked shipping envelope with no paperwork.  The nightmare started shortly afterward.  I noticed her credit card was getting hit once per week by different memberships.  Total cost for the first month ($340 something).

I spent HOURS getting the memberships cancelled only to find that the next month I was getting billed for more.  I had to disput all the charges, cancel the card, etc…  Forget the money – I don’t have time to waste half a day for a free bottle of pills.

End result is I just can’t bring myself to promote this negative rebill crap…. and it’s all the networks seem to offer.

I’ll admit I’m getting old.  I have 4 kids, but I still don’t want to have to get inspired over crappy products. In fact I can’t.  I just know that I’m not comfortable promoting things I wouldn’t show my kids – and things that might hurt people who can’t afford it.

It’s also hard to get inspired over selling couches on-line, or legos, or anything that I can’t touch.

But hey – when it comes down to it, this is a business and all aspects can’t be exciting.

My next couple of posts will deal with some nifty ideas – some that might even excite you.  I’ll lay out some plans for dominating a ton of markets – fast and easy.  Im also working on a new project in my spare time (montly site creation is taking it’s toll) that might help some of you out in this regards.

No nothing is with out work – but some of these coming posts might just get you excited enough to look forward to getting on the P.C. in the mornings.  I’m also going to be outlining and giving you what you need to do the plans if I can… I’m basically printing out my “idea” folder and going through it.  Some of these things I’ve done, do, or just plain want to do.  Some of course will be fun – others will be just money farms so you have some money to dump into the “fun”.  I’ll warn you though – it’s not all black hat, but there are some great ideas!

Get your thinking caps on – because I’m sure you are looking for good ideas that aren’t rehashed e-book crap right?  I’m hoping a few of you take my ideas here and turn them into FULL FLEDGED concepts that change your life (some of them can).

I agree. The Acai scams have been well documented (TV, radio, print) I find it amazing that the networks are still offering the Acai. The networks try to convince you of their intregrity, yet at the same time will be whoreing these scam offers. Acai isn’t the only one either.

Totally agree with you here. I’m broke and unemployed, and I can’t stomach the idea of scamming other broke and unemployed people out of their unemployment money. These negative rebill scams and the excitement other IMs have about them have sucked the energy for this project out of me.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in mind to do instead.

Can’t wait to pick up some new ideas from your upcoming posts.

I personally do adult, and they have those cross-sells as well, but I try to stay away from those sponsors which do that.

Cross-Sales are the worst thing to happen to affiliates as they are usually snuck in with a random check box off to the side and piss off people so they dont want to buy those products again in the future, thus screwing everyone down the line.

Right on! I dabbled with grant rebills for a bit before deciding I just couldn’t promote such garbage that was actually hurting people in need. Switched to cost per sale stuff where the customer can get an instant refund if they’re not happy, and I am sleeping a lot better at night as a result. Look forward to your series.

I think it’s wise man, a good state of mind.

For the acai berry, I think this kind of campaign can only work in the U.S. because consumers are naive enough compared to other countries. Lucky are most of the US “webmarketers” (they like to describe themselves as this), they just have to create a landing page and buy some PPC and it rocks.
This terribly huge market helps of course…

    Good continuation for your business,
    Regards.

there are a lot of legit products out there to promote, even acai if you promote it from a reputable source as a antioxidant supplement and not as a weight loss product, but you’re right not only does promoting bad products make you feel guilty it hurts im overall imo. Look forward to what you have coming up…
