Auria EQ266A Black 26″ 5ms WideScreen LCD Monitor – $169.99 (after promo code “AURIA3113″) at Newegg.com, expires 3/17

Now obviously you get what you pay for. This is not a high quality monitor at all. It’s cheap, etc… But I’ve got a few dead pixels on my $429 24″ monitor after a year or so. I’d go cheaper this time around… in fact I’ll probably pick one of these up just to keep around since my kids like to break crap

Don’t want to be a Monkey with lipstick that didn’t get taken to the prom? Open your eyes and watch yourself being manipulated!

You see almost every product launch in the internet marketing world has some of the same things in common….. if you are being sold by ‘those’ people.

Here is how it happens – and of course your complete guide to doing it yourself!

General rule:

Once you have as much of your customers money as you can get through a single sales funnel it’s very important to structure things to get your customer the hell off your product and onto someone else’s. The refund goes to the last person holding the potato and you don’t want it to be you! The fact that you can earn commissions for doing this makes it so much better than sex! Don’t feel guilty about selling crap. Most people won’t even read your report, watch your videos, or do something foolish like actually trying your method if you do your execution and layout correctly.

The Set Up

1st. You’ve got to have minions to sell your crappy e-course/guide/book/pdf/etc… You’ll charge a lot more than anyone could really justify for the product, but so your minions can make money as well you will give them 50 percent, 60 percent, even 100 percent commissions. If you are just starting out you will probably want to partner with someone who has already attained GURU status and then you will probably lose money, but you will build your own list of people and can be a GURU yourself.

It’s awesome.

2nd. You’ve got to come up with something unique, ground breaking, earth shattering. Something like an auto blogging tool. If you can’t even come up with that just copy someone elses product, post, etc… Personally I feel that there are a lot of high quality products being pitched at Digital Point. Any of those $5 dollar reports qualify as the base for your $997 product. We cover why it doesn’t matter what’s in your product later.

3rd. Don’t tell anyone in the sales page what it is. Lord knows they wouldn’t buy an auto blogging tool. Especially one that just scrapes rss with things like Righthaven out there. Hopefully it doesn’t do that. There are smarter ways to auto blog and I know I’ve talked about them here.

4th. This is the most important part. You need screenshots of yourself making stupid amounts of money in a short period of time. Preferablywhile you were homeless, with your legs stuck beneath a log, and while wild sparrows attacked you. If you need help with those screenshots please see here: Screen Shot Faking. Really want to be slick about it? Change things up using that massively secret technique then make a video of it – of course a video is real right?

O.K. so first off you know how to set things up properly now for your first product launch. That’s just the set up.

Now for the execution.

1.) You open your doors at a certain time. Have all your minions start talking about your great product that only they have seen so far DAYS or even weeks in advance. If you are really smart you’ll have people start opting in so you can blast them every few hours about how hard it is to keep the digital doors locked while you wait for that secret time.

2.) Make sure it’s a limited amount. I mean this secret that saved you from the sparrows can’t be shared with everyone – just a few thousand – so it doesn’t get diluted.

3.) Make sure you have lot’s and lot’s of upsells, downsells, secret pricing, and other things that engineer trust and make you look really legit. Personally I think if you can start off at $997 for your product and then everytime they try to leave the page you take the price down 97 bucks until they are at 97 bucks it’s a winner.

Now for the product layout.

This is the MOST important part. You see people are lazy and the majority aren’t REALLY going to read all 999999 pages of fluff. They will get distracted by Youtube so it’s very important you follow this page layout structure for your report. Lot’s of LOOOOOONG videos with each only containing a little bit of the method is a sure winner.

For the purposes of this guide I’m going to just make sure that you understand the format for PDF’s.

General PDF Overview

Length, length, length. This is the goal. People are lazy and if they don’t read the whole thing they won’t ask for a refund. You know if they read your tripe they are heading over to Clickbank to demand a refund, damages, and to see if anyone is selling how to’s on home lobotomies. It’s important that have a footer and header for every page of the PDF (to take up space), and don’t worry it’s just fine to dedicate an entire page to one sentence. People appreciate brevity in your words and REALLY they want to keep scrolling to find something in your guide worth reading.

DO NOT – I REPEAT DO NOT SKIP ANY SECTION OF THIS GUIDE.

Section 1:

This is the disclaimer section. You need lawyer speak, and plain speak. If you are smart you will also include some anecdotes about this anaconda you saw in mexico that ate a lawyer. The point is to make this REALLY LONG!

Section 2:

This is where you talk about when you were homeless, had your legs stuck under a rock, the sparrows were attacking you, and you used your telepathy to have the local librarian help you make a fortune online. This has to be long – hell describe the sparrow poop if you have to. LENGTH LENGTH LENGTH creates value — NOT CONTENT!

Section 3:

This is where you talk about some other mailing list they should join. Give them instructions, get them off this report. DISTRACT THEM. As fast as you can with as much urgency as you can get them off this page. If you are really really smart you will find a way to get them to install something that will require them to restart their computer. There is a 90 percent chance they won’t be back and if they do come back the sympathy you’ve created by talking about the sparrow trauma will help you avoid that refund!

Section 4:

O.K. you know you’ve gone on long enough – but let’s give the reader one more chance to get off this page. Tell them about your good friend “JOHN’S” amazing report that will help them with your guide. One more chance to get them off the page and get them into someone elses sales funnel so they stop thinking about getting a refund on your report – let John deal with this loon who actually expects something.

Section 5:

This is the meat where you actually have to teach them some outdated method you probably got from a forum post or someplace where bloggers still post. Make sure you put a twist on it – if you can get some script coded in Arastastanziba for $45 dollars it’s not a bad idea either. It doesn’t have to be bug free – just has to load, they probably won’t use it anyway. If people complain you can use your profits from the launch to get it recoded.

Section 6:

This is the important section – the most important section of all. Right now they are sort of like this:

(*yes that’s a ape that put on lip stick and then didn’t get taken to the prom. Sorry couldn’t find a picture of a monkey – deal with it)

This is your last chance to distract them and get them into someone else’s sales funnel. It’s like a game – the last thing they buy is the only thing they will think about. If you can get them to take their disappointment with your sparrow shit product and project hope again to something else they will be TWICE as disappointed with the next product.

Remember though – if you can stuff your sparrow crap report into a bunch of videos and just put your pre-sales to other peoples stuff in the PDF’s you will win 90 percent of the time. The good news is the lazy bastards buying your guide WILL open the pdf’s and get shoved into someone else’s sales funnel – and never realize you gave them a great deal on a pile of sparrow shit!

How can you help others?

Spread the love for this guide. The more people that know the secrets to making their own digital guru guides the more people there are to pass the potato to! Post to twitter, facebook, or from your blog.

Updates (I could have done an upsell on you here – but damn I’m nice):

I forgot to mention how to pre-sell your digital product and get more affiliates!

Just making your product, sales page, and lining yourself up with a GURU isn’t enough. It’s also important to go to popular internet marketing forums and ask for affiliates. Make sure to promise things that you have no intention of doing! This is an awesome way to build trust, establish your brand out the door, and make sure you ONLY have greedy affiliates that will push whatever crap you push out. No sense messing with the ones that care about their lists and relationships.

Make sure you are on a very cheap shared host!

This is probably the best way to increase your profits. First make SURE your server goes down during the ‘launch’. Redirect to a mailing list or something and make sure you don’t give your affiliates credit for any sales that come in that way. You save $$ and of course everyone knows how awesome your product is if the server goes down.

Common Mistakes:

One of the most common mistakes is having a forum. This gives people another page of yours to bookmark, and of course keep your product in their mind. It also gives them a place to think of things like class action suits, and mass refunds because you know your product sucks. Don’t make it.

Offering a service: Services are hard work. Don’t do it – plus then when you deliver the service every month/week/day/year/decade it reminds them of their subscription giving them a reason to cancel.

E-mailing and mentioning your service ever again. There is a reason launches only happen for a few days and you never hear of the product again. Keep it on the down low – and just get your next product ready!

When you took your SEO courses (what you didn’t get a 4 year degree on SEO?) you were probably told that links matter. So let’s say you are trying to rank for the term “fishing lures”.

You run around and link to your index page with the term “fishing lures” everywhere you can right?

For a long time you are ranking quite well, and then suddenly some domain with less age, and less links starts beating you. Well that doesn’t make sense does it? It goes against all known laws of ranking.

Here are some things to consider to improve your situation instead of just doing the same insanse linking method over and over. Each one only takes a few minutes and in a couple weeks you will probably see an improvement.

1.) Go over your site with a fine tooth comb. See if you’ve been hacked. Look for links you didn’t put there, strange crap in your htaccess file, javascript that appeared out of thin air, etc..

Check page load times (yes page load time matters).

Make sure your images all have alt tags and you didn’t do anything stupid anywhere like stuffing keywords. (come on – who labels an image as “fishing lure image about fishing lures at a fishing lure fun fest”.)

2.) Create an e-mail account for the domain name and use it to create a twitter, facebook, and some other social site. Put enough content to look legit on all those sites (think conversions and trust while you are doing it). Be flippin creative and when you link back to your site use deep links and vary those keywords.

Go back and add something to these things every few days for 2 weeks. Who knows – you might even make a lifelong companion, meet your soul mate, or find someone else who will put up with you. Chances are you might pick up a conversion or two instead.

3.) Go leave 20 comments on related blogs. Deep link and use different keywords. Leave 10 more linking to the index page with different keywords. Doesn’t really matter if at this point you are using your name. You’ve got to fix the fact that you’ve got 99 percent of your incoming links have the same anchor link to the same link.

4.) You know those social sites you created in step 2? Time to pull in feeds and display badges and crap on your website. I hate them too – but Google has a hard on for the social networks at the moment. Consider it social proof and just find a way to do it.

5.) Can you add video to your site? Do it. It’s not 1999 anymore. Give a few pages some meat. Ohh – if you can’t make a video go check out fiverr.com. There are idiots on there making testimonial videos for 5 bucks… I’m sure you could get the same idiot to make a video about his favorite fishing lure or something.

If you can’t just embedd some youtube.

6.) Add some comments (if it’s a blog). Comments are another aspect of that social proof that G seems to like at the moment. If it’s not a blog add something else like a few twitter feeds on a deep page.

Obviously each different situation could be a different issue. The things I’ve mentioned up there aren’t usually talked about in most ‘seo courses’ though. The interwebs a changing – got to keep changing with it.

Are Affiliate Marketers, Programmers, and Webmasters The New Renaissance Men?

Renaissance Man:

The terms Renaissance man and, less commonly, Homo Universalis (Latin for “universal man” or “man of the world”) are related and used to describe a person who is well educated or who excels in a wide variety of subjects or fields.[3] The idea developed inRenaissance Italy from the notion expressed by one of its most accomplished representatives, Leon Battista Alberti (1404–1472): that “a man can do all things if he will.” It embodied the basic tenets of Renaissance humanism, which considered humans empowered, limitless in their capacities for development, and led to the notion that people should embrace all knowledge and develop their capacities as fully as possible. Thus the gifted people of the Renaissance sought to develop skills in all areas of knowledge, in physical development, in social accomplishments, and in the arts.

In todays culture most people in science, medicine, psychology, and the arts are specialists. To compete with the growing number of the worlds population that have a college degree they’ve become specialists that don’t see the ‘whole picture’ anymore. As an example of this just open up the yellow pages and look at the doctors in there. The number of general physicians is dwindling (let’s ignore the money aspect of why) and the number of specialists are growing.

Nothing in our culture makes man strive to be that UNIVERSAL MAN anymore.

Except for those that run their own business, and specifically the people that help those men market and grow their business.

Here is an example:

Before breakfast this morning I had to write in 4 different languages (javascript, php, html, and css). While doing so I had to be artistic (and I’d say that photoshop is an art form), and even delve into the psychology of those that would be viewing my pages. I was considering their social status, their needs, their wants, and of course how to manipulate them into doing what I wanted them to.

After that I had to consider my profit and loss ratios for paying for advertising. Will X percentage of the people I lead to this page do Y if I make them think about XYZ first?

To get all the information I needed I had to know about medicine, the human body, how the mind works, math, etc..

To keep increasing my income and earnings I have to keep increasing my knowledge. The more I learn about anything usually turns into more money from my sites, higher fee’s from my clients, etc…

Society Reveres (worships even?) Renaissance Men and Those That Do The Exceptional

Don’t feel appreciated? Wonder where your starving crowds of adoring fans are? Well you obviously haven’t hit the big time yet.

Mark Zuckerberg is the “man of the year”, has a movie made about him, and has his company elevated to mammoth estimations of income potential.

What is he really? A nerd who has learned how to program and had a great idea – he also learned how to do all the things it took to make Facebook.

Elon Musk founded paypal and is now leading a charge into space.

Bill Gates – name one person who doesn’t want his money? But look at what he is doing with it now. The Gates foundation is throwing heaps of money at what he considers world problems.

Not all Renaissance Men Made It

For every Leonardo Da Vinci there were hundreds of those we would consider Renaissance Men today that no one knows who they are. Think of all the big websites/great ideas on the web that went crashing to the ground during the .com bust… and since.

Think AOL, Yahoo, and all those other sites that just didn’t keep up and are dying.

So go be Exceptional

Next time you fire up your P.C. and start to make that landing page, to program that new idea, or to help one of your clients improve their business – think about how exceptional you are. Chances are you are more artistic than 99 percent of the population, speak more languages (Yes programming is a language), know more about world events, put more thought into current news, culture, etc.. then 99 percent of the population.

You are probably also likely to have read more than the average man, know more random useless knowledge than most, and you’ve probably not showered enough while you were working. But hey – how often do you think Thomas Edison showered while he was making all those light bulbs, or Ben Franklin was worried about anything other than figuring out how electricity worked for days?

Edit: This originally ended with me claiming that Franklin invented the light bulb. It was supposed to be a joke but since I was the only one who thought it was funny I’ve edited it so as not confuse those who didn’t get it

Edited part: But hey – how often do you think Benjamin Franklin showered while he was making all those light bulbs?

I’ve had an excellent day – I’ve made 2 million on adsense alone today. Want to see a screenshot to prove it?

Well actually I had a lot of fun with my wife today. She went to WaWa(it’s a gas station/deli) and “STOLE” my credit card from my wallet because she couldn’t find her debit card. I of course, couldn’t let this sit. Taking my cash is one thing, but to actually move onto my “plastic” which is off limits because I hate being in any kind of debt.

Now like normal husbands, I could holler… but we all know that’s pointless.

The only way to really convince any woman she was wrong is to show her how badly her mistake is going to affect her family. In this case I’ve decided to convince her that WaWa has overcharged us causing the credit card company to fine me $1000 dollars in overdraft fee’s (my wife is clueless about money so this will work – and maybe she won’t touch the plastic again)

I could take the reciept into photoshop – but I don’t have that kinda skill – HTML on the other hand is pretty easy to manipulate.

Enter the Web Developer Plugin for Firefox - get it here.

Here is what I did to the poor girl (may she forgive me).

I used the developer plugin and logged into the credit card’s website.

Balance there was 57.99 just the amount she used to get gas and a sub. I added a few lines, and turned it into $5,799. With fee’s taking it over $6,500.

It worked fine until she tried to go back to the WaWa and cause a stink with the manager about overcharging her. I had to tell her the truth then so she didn’t embarrass herself.

When she starts talking to me again, I suppose we will have the “leave the plastic alone” talk again

Anyway, the point of all this, is that this is how many “super affiliates” edit the amounts they’ve made. It’s so easy anyone with just a smattering of html skill can do it. So the next time someone tells you they made 1.4 million dollars on clickbank through PPV ads – well there you go

Hey all,

I just realized that it’s almost Christmas and I haven’t given you anything yet. Normally this time of year I go a little nuts raising money for the local food bank I helped start a few years ago, but with health issues it’s really been on the back burner.

So, I’ll just be donating what I normally donate this year, and some time as always. Remember, no matter where you are there are always people less fortunate than you. Find a way to help – it will make you feel good, and there are more people struggling than ever this year. Right after Christmas many charities get a rude wake up call – they suddenly don’t have enough volunteers (or money) since so many people helped just before the holidays. If you don’t know how to help, don’t have time, etc.. Scroll down to the bottom of this post and I’ll do the helping for you. I wasn’t going to do this this year – but it let’s me give more, and give you something in return.

No mater what though – it’s Christmas and I made something for you just for being one of our readers or a subscriber to any of our sites. It’s a simple script that allows you to make PDF’s on your server. I hope you find it helpful, and of course that you use it to create new types of links to your sites.

This script was designed so I didn’t have to do the following manually anymore:

1.) Open ‘Open Office’.

2.) Type up what I wanted to link.

3.) Turn into pdf.

4.) Upload to server.

5.) Open editor and link to new pdf.

Now I just upload this script and do it all in one step. As many PDF’s as I want – on as many servers as I want.

Download the Script.

Watch the installation video.

Get On the update list (this has only been for my personal use, so we might find a bug). I’ll maybe send out some other goodies later.

I’m curious to know how long any of you have been with out internet/cable/phone due to whatever reasons.

The other night at about 10 o’clock at night I lost my connection. Happens no big deal. So figured I’d watch a movie. On Demand wasn’t working either so I assumed Comcast was having another lovely outage.

The next morning my wife takes the kids to school, and is taking the little one out for the day. I fire up the PC to get some work done and it turns out that I still don’t have an internet connection. So i pick up the phone to call comcast and I don’t have a phone. (since my wife has the cell phone I can’t communicate with the outside world at this point). I figure I’d kick back and watch a movie then.

Guess what? No cable either

So when my wife finally gets home and I call Comcast they tell me they can’t have anyone here till today. Turns out SQUIRRELS ate my cable line

Hey, I’ve mowed the grass, edged the yard, cleaned the gutters, painted the kitchen, took the dog to the bay, and played a whole lot with my kids. Sorta like an enforced 3 day vacation.

Gotta love it when you are trying to outsource something to save a little time. Most of my normal guys/gals are working on projects already so I decided to dig up someone new. You get fun little responses like this:

I have go through the job description very well and would lie to tell you that I am the best fit for this job, as I have good expertize in facebook applications using PHP and have given quality work to my previous clients.

(read it and laugh)

Now my “qualifiers” for this job.

1.) Fluent English (written and verbal).

2.) They had to tell how long they expected the project to take.

32 people have “bid” on my project and while the guy above me wants to lie to me – not a single person has said it’s going to take about 4 hours (that’s really about how long it would take a slow poke). I’ve got bids from 9 dollars to 1500 dollars.

When you get a good programmer, writer, designer, dog walker, etc… make sure you take care of them. To many idjuts out there.

I just got done helping a client migrate what was left of her sites off a shared host. I won’t get into a bashing game with the host - but they screwed up and she lost quite a bit of data.

Shared hosts are great for spreading out the ip’s – but mission critical (ie your money sites) stuff should not be there.

If you lost it would it hurt? If so it’s time to:

1.) Make sure you have a great host. I love liquid web‘s VPS’s. I also like Wiredtree. Both have great support.

2.) Make sure you have a back up system in place that is redundant. In other words actually download your back ups and put em on a disk every now and a then.

Look, you can fit a whole mess of blogs for example on a 60 dollar VPS from wiredtree. Buy a couple IP blocks and that turns into a 75 dollar a month server with 14 or so IP addresses.

Worried about being able to manage it? They do it. You get a Web Hosting Manager login where you can create sites, then you just do the same thing you’ve always done.

Step it up. If you ask they will even help you migrate your stuff over to your new server.

Came across a domain the other day that was an exact match for the term I needed. I thought great – let me make them an offer. I saw that the site was for lease and “semi parked”. Basically a landing page with ads and NO real SEO value what so ever.

O.K. – next step since I wasn’t leasing and I wasn’t paying that much for the site was to check the .net’s, orgs, etc…

Turns out just about every other extension was available…. and I’m ranking number one with just a single post/page.

No big surprise there, but I’m amazed at how many sites like this (with a lot of searches per month) that I found by searching for “keyword” + “domain for lease” variations.

Give it a whirl – might find a few golden nuggets.
