So if you have a blog that you update frequently (read automatic wordpress posting) sometimes it’s a good idea to set up a link wheel type environment. Here is an easy way to do that.

Step 1: Install WP-Statusnet on your blog: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-statusnet/ It’s free. While you are there go ahead and set up your social omphh account. https://www.socialoomph.com/register

Step two: Get accounts at these places:
Diigo: http://www.diigo.com/

Packrati: http://packrati.us/
Identi.ca
Twitter
Delicious
Facebook

Step three:

You need to link things together now. Use your identi account to link to twitter. Then head over to packrati to finish it up.

Process ends up like this:

The status net plugin/indenti updates things with facebook, twitter and ping.fm. Then if you’ve linked everything together you end up with bookmarks at diigo, delicious, etc…

OVER HALF OF THESE PACKAGES ARE GONE! FAIR WARNING…everyone involved with local seo or who just likes money needs this!

I have 4 kids and I work my tail off so we can enjoy summer together. I can’t not work all summer though so I work every day – excluding a few weekends where we go camping. My kids are understanding because they know that me working for a few hours means we can go do something fun before or after.

I couldn’t do it though if I didn’t have a great team behind me. That includes the wife and kids……….. hehe they just leave me alone to work though – they aren’t the reason everything works!

I really couldn’t do it if I didn’t have thousands of dollars of link’s I sell per month. I couldn’t do it with out ruling the local seo side of things. Honestly – the local seo domains, listings, and sites I own are all like money in the bank at every stage of their development. There is nothing like charging 10 dollars a link and selling a hundred of them at once!

Wouldn’t you like a growing network of local seo sites that you can sell links off of, sell outright, or use to get local clients?

I’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE AN EASY SUMMER!

I’ve got the team trained up – and they’ve been doing it for months, with me providing quality control, and of course guiding and controlling things. I’ve been doing this a long time and I know the types of sites that work! It’s different for every niche, every area, etc..

Here is what you are going to get each and every month:

1.) A complete domain (and possibly support domains) developed, marketed, and handed over to you. We will make it so you can update and make as many tweaks or updates as you want. Primarily we will use wordpress but some of your supporting sites may be different platforms.

Premium Members get literally twice as many sites, promotion, etc...

2.) We’ll promote your site. That includes articles, links, and rss promotion. Totally hands off on your part!

3.) You monetize how you want.

4.) I’ll analyze your growing network every month and tweak and make changes as needed!

5.) We will provide you with constant updates, guides, tips on monetization, suggestions on how to market the sites locally, and answer any questions you have.

Ready to have a “FREE AND EASY” Summer so you can kick some Local Tail next when summer is over? You’ve got three choices. Basic, Advanced, and Premium! Please there are only so many spots available so do not order more than one!

SOLD OUT IN JUST 10 HOURS! THERE ARE NO SPOTS LEFT!

Some Faq’s:

1.) Hosting: ( a small hosting fee per site per month will apply – about 32 cents). The sites must stay on our servers while content is being added to your sites. This is done over time and we’ve found that shared servers are not reliable enough.

2.) Regions Covered: Right now we only target the U.S. Unless you instruct us otherwise we will be targeting all 50 states. We can do single states as well.

3.) You have to have a namecheap account, and there may be times you may need to apply for a API (easy – like signing up for a site and it’s free).

4.) Interlinking between sites will happen. It’s for all our benefits.

5.) You will be contacted via your paypal address with a welcome message and information you will need to provide us.

I’ve decided to run a little trial service to see if anyone is interested in a service that creates blogs in bulk. It’s a really simple process.

1.) You tell us your niche. It can’t be very narrow. For example we can certainly handle “fishing” but we couldn’t do “Alaskan salmon fly making” only.

2.) We buy (half each) .com’s and .info domains for you and push them to your namecheap account.

3.) We install the blogs for you. Set up a theme. Set up a few plugins, permalinks, etc….

4.) Set up an entire years content for you that will post automatically.

5.) In a month or so we will do a small amount of link building for your blogs. Enough to get them over the indexing hump.

6.) Give you full access to both cpanel and the blogs. You own the sites – they are yours to do with as you wish.

Hosting will be on our servers. In a couple months you will be liable for hosting fee’s – but it won’t be more than 32 cents per blog per month. You will also get access to a members area where you can see your log in information for all your blogs whenever you want.

Your options: (either all .com’s or half .info for link building purposes only)

This option will give you half info domains and half .com’s.

WordPress by nature is a great tool for building automated sites. With just about every programming language able to interface with the xml-rpc or atom remote publishing options it’s just silly not to automate posting of your content to wordpress. Now thanks to the hard work of someone else you can have a blog set up in minutes where every category is a unique domain.

http://webdev.casualgenius.com/projects/wordpress-subdomains

The plugin has the following features:

Main Features

Setup main categories as subdomains

Setup main pages as subdomains

Tie pages to categories so they only appear under that category or subdomain

Pick a different theme for each subdomain than the main site’s theme

Sitelist widget, a sidebar widget that lists the subdomains of the site

Categories widget, a sidebar widget that lists the categories of that subdomain

So here is how you use this to *cough* suggest *cough* that you aren’t up to any fishy spamming or anything else untoward. You just have to keep your “CATEGORIES” off the main menu on your “root” blog. You don’t want to link off to any of them so you can do whatever you want.

Now mind you this takes a little more work than just pumping out a blog. But with a little programming work you could automate all your posting to dozens and dozens of “sites” from a single install of wordpress.

I’m not sure what category this idea/concept falls under except the “money” side of things. Once your initial ‘setup’ is complete you can pump out a new ‘niche’ a day and turn it into some pretty instant traffic. This post was originally over at our “black hat – white hat” blog, but it’s good enough to be here as well…. so I’ve updated it.

Ready?

Here is what you will need:

Hosting. I recommend a VPS for this – but you can put 5 to 20 instances of this concept on the same server. Liquidweb has treated me well, will ‘secure’ your network, and help you with great support. You don’t want to go “cheap” on your first VPS that’s for sure. You will probably need the extra hand holding you get with a good company.

WordPress Mu. This is your secret weapon. It’s going to let you burst into new markets fast and easy. Go get it here: WordPress MU.

Squidoo Account, Blogger Account, and Bookmarking Demon. (this is optional but really really helps).

An Account at the Promotion Center through Niche Site Special 2 (black hat membership). (this is optional but really really helps)

In regards to the hosting, you can use a shared host but you must ensure they are willing to set up wildcard subdomains first. I’ve always found this to be a hassle and it’s just easier to get a VPS. If you get a good support staff it will take them a few minutes to do, or you can take this opportunity to learn how to do it yourself. There are tons of tutorials out there.

For my example we are going to be busting into the computer market. So I go register a domain such as “computer-cheap.com” or something similar. I install and set up WordPress MU. Normally at this point I take the time to do a few other things to get the most out of this.

GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WORDPRESS MU SETUP:

1. I make a newsletter series. Usually just 5 or so messages. I take companies I find in linkshare, commission junction, etc… that are related to computers and I just e-mail out a promo for each of them. I load them up in order, them load them again, then load them again. Basically I’m just hitting them up with something like this:

Check out tigerdirect, check out apple, check out dell. Then check out tigerdirect again, check out apple again, check out dell again. Over and over again. If they manage to get on the newsletter I don’t care if they opt out after 25 weeks and getting the 3rd tigerdirect mailing. Chances are they won’t, but eventually I’ll hit them up when they are looking to buy.

Adding the newsletter isn’t a requirement – but it is worth it usually even if it does add on an hour or so to this set up.

2.) Take the time to customize a template (there are hundreds of them out there). I add in my opt in box directly to the template and since I use Aweber for my newsletter I also make a “pop up” box to make the ad pop up when visitors first arrive. (I want them in that newsletter). Since MU allows each user to select their own template you could easily have a mix of adsense, affiliate offers, etc… just by having multiple templates.

3.) I’m not worried about adsense income with these – I want them to purchase something from MY affiliate links not someone elses. I’ll make some pennies off the other steps we take. Plus since I’m not using my adsense account(s) I can be a little risky with some of the promotional methods I chose to do.

5.) Make a wordpress mu user for each topic.

You end up with urls like this:

dell.computer-cheap.com
apple.computer-cheap.com
macbook.computer-cheap.com
hp-laptop.computer-cheap.com
acer-with-xp.computer-cheap.com

Make a few posts for each user account (make sure model numbers and features are in the posts, titles, etc… ). Write em down – your going to need the urls of each of your links.  For the rest of my example I’m going to pretend that I’ve made a post on a the “handy dandy laptop” under the macbook user account. My url is going to look something like this:  www.macbook.computer-cheap.com/1/12/07/handy-dandy-laptop

Next I’m going to open up three browser windows. Squidoo, Blogger, and WordPress. I’m going to make a quick post about “handy dandy laptops” using keywords I think (or have researched) people will be using to find these things. For squidoo I’m going to activate at least 4 or 5 moduals.

End result: I now have:

My WordPress MU page, a squidoo page, a blogger blog, and a wordpress blog. I’ve interlinked all of them but the focus is my MU page because I OWN that one. I’ll use the others for traffic and ranking help, but I sure as heck don’t want to depend on any of the things hosted elsewhere to stay there forever.

I’ll take my keywords, and each of those urls and head on over to Bookmarking Demon and get the initial links to get me spidered and to increase my “squidoo rank”. Next I’ll submit all those sites to the “Promotion Center” at Niche Site Special 2.

That takes care of my intial linking strategy. I just want them indexed. The Promotion Center takes over the long term link building and I can move on.

If after a few days I start seeing some good traffic at squiddo or to my MU site, I’ll go ahead and start making comments on related blogs. I’ll use Comment Hut for this. Basically Comment Hut goes out and finds related blogs, lens’s, hub pages, etc.. Spits em out in a text file and I can go comment on them. I have a few choices there – and it really depends on how I want to do things. If you don’t already own comment hut – google comment kahuna. It’s free but returns less results.

I can:

Manually make a comment to each one.

Use a script to make fake comments on each one.

Trackback Spam them.

Referrer Spam them.

Or just start linking to those posts in future blog posts so I get the trackbacks the acceptable way.

There are also a few more things I can do. Usually there is someone somewhere in some forum selling submissions. For like 20 bucks I can get my MU site put in a couple hundred directories, but I normally don’t have to go that far.  There is always myspace, hubpages, and a few hundred other social networks out there just waiting for me to drop links in. That’s what they are there for right?

That’s just a drop in the bucket, there are still hundreds of other ways to build links… and even generate content for these sites. There’s rss feeds, viral stuff, link injection, and more.

Moral of the story and your game plan:

1.) Set up MU.

2.) Make a page on a individual product.

3.) Find 3 ways to build sites pointing to it.

4.) Get them indexed.

5.) Figure out how you are going to keep building links steady over the long term.

AND FINALLY – never ever do anything with the root of computer-cheap.com. Don’t link to it, don’t reference it, etc.. That way if you ever do anything to get banned your other users will be fine.

Have questions? Ask away.

Note – not my list – the credit goes to a post by seo_mike on wickedfire – but he found it from Jessica Hupp.

I’d like to add a few more places though.

- sitepoint.com’s forum.

- to other98percent.com members (there is a spot in the forum)

- me (Seriously. If you’ve got some content and some links going – hit me up since I might be interested).

Sites usually sell for about 6 to 12 months revenue – but content does count for something as well. If you have a lot of content that has value as well. Experienced buyers know that a new site isn’t going to have ‘kick butt’ revenue and will ‘sometimes’ pay a premium for a good site to round out a network.

USED DOMAINS - or Aftermarket Domains.

Time and time again I see people start new sites. Keep in mind in this case we’re talking about whitehat sites that you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into such as a blog, forum or website. The first thing they do is go search whatever domain hosting company for a domain that works well for the site that they’re building.

I haven’t touched on this before – but I feel I need to since I’m going to be talking about White Hat sites for the next few days. I’ve already posted a little audio blurb about it but I’m not done. The next 4 or 5 posts will probably be all about the all important top of the pyramid (white hat sites).

Usually when you start thinking of your white hat sites the first thing you do is rush out to namecheap and buy a domain. That might not be your best move. It takes time to get ranked for keywords – and yes to break out of the sandbox.

Disclaimer: All sites, and all keywords are not treated equally – sometimes a site can break right out into the rankings, other times it get stuck in limbo for 6 months…. some say longer.

The good news is that an “aged” domain doesn’t have the same problems as often. Imagine for a couple seconds that your “white hat” site is starting off with a pr of 3 or 4, and a few hundred links out there already. That’s an awesome head start right? You can then concentrate on new links, better content, and monetization strategies.

That aged domain might not be 8.99 – it might be 15 dollars, it might be 300 dollars, or it could even be higher. Let’s think about this for a minute. Xyzed.com is on the aftermarket for 200 dollars. It’s got a pr2, and 120 links out there. You’ve got a plan, you’ve got the content, you’ve got the ads to put on it….. how much are you going to lose over 6 months while you wait for Google to trust you? If your site is going to just make a few bucks a day – or lets say 60 dollars a month….. that’s $360 dollars while you sit in the sandbox.
You still have to research the site, see what kind of links it has, etc… Sometimes you can even pick up an existing site for sale at some place like sitepoint or digital point that is already established and grow it instead of starting from scratch.

Always do your homework – and use places like this: http://www.domainswithbenefits.com/ to get a leg up if you have the money.

Today Slightly Shady SEO put up a post about the future of the black hat side of things. It was pretty much to the point and straight up along the lines I’ve been saying. He talks about 3 methods – speed, stealth, and do it yourself.

Go read his post –> Slightly Shady SEO

Over at Black Hat White Hat I talked a few weeks ago about using your own web properties to increase your links. It’s a good plan and one that isn’t talked about much but should be a given. I covered this a little in one of the Day8 topics, but I felt it was important enough to go over again.

Some easy ways are to use some of the social scripts that are out there – elgg, dolphin, scuttle, pligg, etc…

My take on the future of “real” black hat seo? It’s going to get harder and harder as time goes on. The search engines have a vested interest in stopping you, your competition has a vested interest in stopping you, and diminishing returns on your efforts will slowly sap your will (and others) to keep building pages and sites.

Jumping up above the ‘real’ dark stuff and giving yourself a way to stand out from the crowd and even have others bury your spam in real content on a site you own only makes some sense.

Regardless no matter what direction SEO goes in the future it’s going to get harder and harder for the little guy. If you look at some of Google’s experimental search pages in the Labs – you might see what I’m talking about.

Day 10 sites can really be either foundation level sites or White Hat sites. I call them Micro sites because they only need 5 or 10 pages to work and they are targeted to a particular product, service, or something fun.

The goals for these sites are either just pure link bait (fun stuff) or to sell individual products. The types of affiliate networks you want to be dealing with are things like walmart, sears, or merchants.

(It helps if they also offer a feed since you can use the day 9 stuff to crank out large sites on top of these mini sites.)

I tend to use a number of different things to make them.

1.) FUN SITES:

If I’m making a fun site I just use dreamweaver. I end up with something like this: http://www.yesitsfunny.com or SEO SUCKS . Don’t spend a lot of time on these – make them good enough to get stumbled or dugg and just let them sit. Make sure you put some links in there – and you can always monetize anyway you want.

If you are looking for ideas for a funny type site there are dozens. The easiest way though is to take pictures and throw funny words up on them. Then you digg, stumble, etc.. and just let the social networks do their jobs. Think of LOLCATS – or even just pictures to put up when people ask stupid questions on forums.

The important thing with these is to just get a kick out of them – and just have some fun for a few minutes. If it’s something that takes off put more effort into it then.

2.) Article Sites to Promote Products

If I’m concentrating on articles and I’m in a hurry I’ll use Xsitepro. Usually when I use this method I make the sites about 40 pages bigger because I use the method and scripts we gave you in Black Hat Xsitepro. When I do this method I just take other peoples articles, and well pretty much do just what I teach in BH Xsitepro. If your a NSS 2 member it’s in the “black hat section”.

3.) Product Sites:

Think toasters – a site all about toasters. Toasters from walmart, sears, etc… Custom toasters, painted toasters, etc.. Your goal here is to rank for brands and model numbers. Of course it doesn’t have to be about toasters – just a single type of product. Want some link bait for it? Make a PDF or page with the prices of toasters in 1911 or something - I’ve got a site that lists all the “old time” computers we had when I was a kid – it gets linked to all the time by folks. Took me all of 20 minutes and a forum post to make. (thanks to all who answered my question about their first computer).

4.) WordPress MU – And Parasite Pages

However, my favorite way is to use WordPress MU, squidoo, blogger, and my existing sites to rank VERY well for individual products. Instead of re-writing it all – I’ve already wrote it in another blog. Here is the link: WordPress – Squidoo, Blogger = $$.

The wordpress MU method gives me dozens and dozens of micro sites. The promotion is done fast – and you end up with sales through blogger, squidoo, and your own sites. The best part is you are using OTHER sites to increase the value of your own while you do it. Game up your squidoo site and you will probably make a couple sales before google even ranks you.

Final Word on it:

These sites can all be made in a matter of minutes. With a small amount of link building and some smart “bait” for each one others will be building links back to you for years. That means affiliate sales for years – it’s a good thing. While some of them might only take you 15 minutes to a couple hours to build and set up you will benefit from a place to link from, and affiliate income for a LONG time. Doesn’t matter if your promoting toasters, paintball gun, fishing rods, lures, hats, gloves, spices, etc… people are searching for that MODEL number. You don’t need PPC to get traffic for those items either.

In the “network building” category here on Black Hat Digest I’m going to talk about easy ways to build up your network easily. Simply put you need “PAGES” – lot’s of them.

I’m going to show you how to do that as easily as I can.
