O.K. it’s been weeks since I’ve added new days to the 30 day guide – and to be honest I just don’t know what else to add.

I’ve covered the basics and anything else I do is going to require you to have some programming knowledge and only a small portion of our readers seem to be learning how to program.

I’d planned on doing some more research posts but those are ALL over the place. I’ve been pretty straight up with my research methods and I do use wordze (just search on here for all the research posts). I don’t have any secret methods that you can’t find just by doing.

Now – I’m not done posting by any stretch. If your familiar with the “black hat” blogging crowd many of them disapear after making 20 or 30 posts — mainly because you can only say the same thing so many times

However, I’m not going anywhere. I support my members and clients here by teaching them things – and I know they read it (yes I’m watching you). If you just found this site out of the blue – merry christmas.

Do the 18 day guide – Enjoy and rinse, wash, and repeat. Be warned though – that there are over 100 posts on this blog that never went into the guide – we’d really be the 100 day guide if I had made each post a day.

All Right – this isn’t a “black hat” tool at all. At worst it’s a grey hat tool that you can abuse the heck out of or use it totally legit.

What it does is it allows you to define categories (each category is a feed), and then make items for each category.

(newbies note: Rss feeds are made of items. Each item has a link, description, and a title.)

Pretty simple right?

Well you fire this puppy up, make rss feeds for all your categories that you have websites in and then shoot the rss url that’s generated over to the aggregators.

Simple…

There are services that do this for you on-line, but you don’t have as much control that way. So when I find something that works I usually just code up something fast.

Here is the download:

Black Hat Really Simple Rss Tool

That’s where aggregators come in. Places like:

GoldenFeed.com
IceRocket.com

and don’t forget grazr (covered earlier), and there is a new service called dapper.net that you should be checking out.

Each service is slightly different but some of them let you enter in nothing more than just an RSS feed. Those are the ones that are easiest to game – and where you can even rank for long tail keywords right through google.

If you don’t have a way to make RSS feeds – check out the next day 18 post.

A few years ago I discovered how powerful rss feeds were. It’s like you make a rss feed, but your links and things in the right spots and poof – traffic and rankings.

There are places out there called rss aggregators that are just begging you to put your feeds in there. Guess what happens then? Other people start displaying YOUR content (and links) on thier sites.

Isn’t that lovely?

The hard part though is getting all that content. That’s where RSS REBOUND comes in. It let’s you pull in a bunch of other peoples feeds (and your own), breaks them down into categories, and then you can edit them all in one place (changing target urls, content, links, etc…)

Poof – suddenly you have a feed that’s really big, really unique, and really promoting your stuff.

Dump it back into the aggregators, dump it into your wordpress blogs as content, put it everywhere you can.

I won’t go into a long drawn out thing about RSS Rebound here because it’s not free. You can get it as part of your NSS 2 Black hat membership, or you can learn a lot more about it (and how to get a discount) over at the free newsletter at http://www.blackhat-whitehat.com

I’m also going to be giving you a pretty basic script in a little bit that is like a rss rebound lite.

RSS stands for ‘really simple syndication’ – but I’m sure it’s a typo. They meant to say “really simple spamming”.

I’m going to give you a number of ways to use rss over the next couple posts – but they all come down to the same thing. “thanks for the links”

I’ve briefly touched on ELGG and how easy it is to set up a web 2.0ish social site with it. I usually use ELGG installs as a foundation site because you can set up cron jobs with it to pull in feeds into different profiles.

An example is the 1k visitors a month a single profile on a elgg install sends to one of our reality sites. Total time setting it up sorta goes like this. The actual profile gets about 4000 or more visits a month.

Install elgg (15 minutes)

Add advertising (10 minutes)

Set up 10 profiles (15 minutes)

Get links (2 minutes using sitewidelinking or even bookmarkdemon or the command center)

Even for a newbie it’s about an hour set up total time. Sure that doesn’t include any real customization, or anything else. And for a white hat site you are going to have to put some ‘time’ in.

The good news is that ELGG is about to release a new version (summer of 2008) and it looks like they are close at the time of this posting. I’m not sure how that will affect things, but my guess is that it won’t be that much of a change and it will probably make your life easier.

Ok – As mentioned previously all our “Day 17″ posts are going to cover different types of “white hat” sites. There is only ONE rule for all of these – and that’s to rank for product names…. and of course convert them to sales. These sites are your money sites after all.
If you are using real products – that also gives you the ability to use kaboodle (covered previously as well) to list your pages.

WHITE HAT REVIEW SITES

These review sites aren’t going to appear like all the other review sites you see out there – we want some street cred. That means a few negative reviews of related products or services, and instead of being 100 percent positive we are going to throw in a few ‘slightly negative’ reviews with all our good ones. Let’s face it – who believes the 100 percent glowing reviews you read on some of these affiliate pages.

One of the easiest things to set up is a review site. Easy doesn’t mean that you don’t need to do any planning. Here is a little outline for you:

1.) Pick a ‘topic’ – like furniture.

2.) Pick a few products.

3.) Do some research on them – what seems popular. What sites are ranking for the terms. What does Wordze tell you that you need to rank for the product terms (Don’t worry to much- we are going to go long tail in the end – but who says you can’t rank well for the ‘good’ terms as well with your network behind you). The good news is you can do quite well with these types of review sites/pages when you are on page 2,3,4 in the search results. Your visitors will be LOOKING for a reason to buy or not buy this product….. that means they will search deep.

4.) Do your research for the reviews – ie gather other peoples reviews, comments, etc.. You know how to use Google so that is where you start.

What platform to use?

I tend to use dreamweaver to make these sites, but to be honest with you there are easier and even faster ways. One is xsitepro 1 or 2, and wordpress. There is a (now free) plug in for wordpress that helps you run a review site. It’s called rating dominator.
Now that I’ve dug into Xsitepro 2 a bit more I think I’ll be using it for a few things other than the types of sites I make with the Black Hat Xsitepro methods I teach in Niche Site Special 2. One of those things is going to be these types of review sites because I can get one out in an hour or two (total time – research, comment hunting, and making it live).

So let’s say we’ve picked out a few product models, and know that we can take our competition with just a few hundred links (even less for some long tail words). It’s time to start thinking how we are going to be doing our seo.

SEO STRUCTURE FOR THESE SITES

The main thing we are going to be worried about here are page titles and descriptions that get some attention even when you are on page two for the search results. For my example here we will be selling widgets

Example Page Titles:

Widgets Brand XXX – Negative Reviews, Complaint Information, and How to Resolve.

Widgets Brands – Customer Feedback, Complaints, Reviews, Resolution.

( Think about it – if you were getting ready to buy that widget would you click on that?)

Your meta description matters too – make sure it sounds “official”.

Well I’ve given you enough of an idea to run with I hope. Remember through the whole process that you are trying to reach people that are going to possibly buy your widget — because that’s what they are looking for, real reviews, and a reason to justify what they want to purchase.

I’ve been listening to you – and I think so many of you are having a problem with what a “White Hat” site is. So for day 17 I’m going to cover it in a few posts.

A white hat site is your “MONEY” site – and it doesn’t even need a load of traffic to turn into money if you aren’t relying on adsense to earn your money. Sure adsense has a place in things – but not on our ‘white hat money sites’. Think about it – if folks are paying for related ads to show up on your site over and over, wouldn’t you do better plugging in your own affiliate links?

I know a lot of you come from the warrior forum, digital point, etc…. you think that click bank is the place you get affiliate products. It sure is if you want to push “internet marketing” products — but you can’t sell a sofa there. So go sign up for some affiliate networks. Pepperjam, cj, shareasale, etc…

It’s going to give you a HUGE range of product to promote…. and you will finally have something to do with that keyword research you have been doing.

So – to sum things up here.

I’m doing several posts on ‘types’ of white hat sites.

I want you to stop using adsense, clickbank, and “internet marketing” mindsets.

I want you to make sites to sell “REAL” products (like a sofa, chair, or a toaster).

I want you to make these your white hat money sites – and I’ll show you how.

At this point I’m sure you have heard me mention parasite hosting. In fact day 6 is all about parasite hosting – but in day 6 the focus is really on building links to your sites.

For this part of things we are going to use those same place to just “test” out offers. Think you can rank well for a particular brand of toaster but don’t have the energy to go all out? Well that’s where something like squidoo can come into play.

Make a page or a LENS about the toaster and do a few minutes of promotion. Here is a ticket to squidoo success for example.

- Make a lens with 5 to 10 moduals. Make sure there are links going to your ‘toaster’ link.

- Give it as many tags as allowed (40 if memory serves).

- Join a couple groups.

- Give the lens some links (I use bookmarking demon).

Then just let it sit - If in a month your ranking for the term and have a few sales you’ve found a new market…. and you have a place to link to right off the bat.

I know at some point someone is going to leave a comment and say “hey why not just use parasite hosting and have no sites of your own?”. My answer: That’s stupid since you own NOTHING at the end of the day.

Time to go back to “Day 6″ and come up with some ways of your own to expand this. If you are like me and don’t like ‘working’ to benefit just the parasite hosting companies you should take a look at how I do this.

Working with wordpress MU and Parasite Hosts.

I know your looking for some ‘magic’ answer here but there isn’t… the good news is you can test out (and earn) in just a few minutes using places like squidoo. It takes maybe 10 minutes to create a lens. Maybe 10 minutes to tag and join groups, and 5 minutes to build some links. If you don’t have bookmarking demon just use any social networking service you like.

If you have done all the homework I gave you previously I’m sure you read up over on Bluehatseo all about ‘cycle sites’ (I call them Splogs) (spam blogs in my mind). In a nutshell you use rss feeds to populate your blog, and do nothing but scrape content. You do this on a big scale and you dump then and redirect them later to an affiliate offer or something.

You will get a few track backs this way, some links, etc…

BUT – you will have to deal with copyright complaints, hide your self well, and EXPECT a ban from the search engines. Sometimes you pay for your costs and time, sometimes you don’t.

I personally hate cycle sites and I’ve found some better ways of doing things…. same amount of work with different results.

I’m sure you expect something here – but I’m putting this up so you know what’s coming and to ‘motivate’ myself to finish coding this for you guys/gals.

In a nutshell you are going to enter in your blogs through a control panel, write a few sentences and help moderate other peoples sentences. Helping out and contributing earns you points, and these points are deducted from your account when it posts to your blog.

I’m tying in affiliate programs, sitemaps, content snippets, etc…

I’m also going to make it so you don’t have to work real hard I promise. Give me an hour a week and it should do the rest. I’ll reward those that participate more with extra points, etc..

I don’t plan on having this be a paid tool… however you are going to have to get invited in and be able to vouch for others that you invite in.

So while I finish this programming up I don’t expect to add day 15 till I’m done or go past this point. I never expected to be doing something like this but once as part of this project but I thought of it and how it would help so many of you set up your blog farms I just couldn’t resist.

Since I have extra goodies inside for my NSS 2 members – - well it’s another incentive to finish up.
