Xsitepro – it isn’t just for newbies.

August 22nd, 2008 | 4 Comments | Posted in Online Tools

I figured it was time to do a little post on Xsitepro – since I have a couple products out there related to it I’m probably more familiar with it than most.

Xsitepro 2 has come out and it’s got some neat features (nothing TOO amazing). However, it’s damn easy to crank out sites with it.

Pop in a header graphic, paste in your articles, etc.. Blammo your sites done… almost :)

That’s where those two products I have come into play.  (both are in NSS 2).  One is black hat xsitepro and the other is power up xsitepro.

In a nutshell they give you the code and tutorials you need to make xsitepro into a site generating powerhouse.  I’d honestly hoped some of these features would have automatically been in xsitepro 2 but they weren’t.

But even with out them Xsitepro is a great way for new webmasters to turn out sites – with the ability to generate hundreds of pages based on keywords, import html, and a few other little goodies it’s almost a black hat’s dream tool.

Xsitepro 2 <– yes that’s an affiliate link :) I don’t do many of them but Xsitepro is a worthy tool.

I won’t lie and say that I use Xsitepro every day.   I’m a coder and I’m more comfortable working with aptana or dreamweaver.  But Xsitepro sites have their place in our network.  I put out 1 or 2 a week still to this day.

If you aren’t a coder it’s probably your easiest choice out there.

If you are in NSS 2 go get your copy of Black hat xsitepro and powerup xsitepro.  if you aren’t and have xsitepro it’s worth getting them anyway :)

What’s the point of Ebay Monster?

August 17th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Posted in Online Tools

Someone just wrote me and asked “what’s the point of ebay monster?” – My first reaction was: DON’T YOU SEE IT?
Then I realized that maybe some of you don’t.  It’s all about the long tail keywords really… but let’s put this into a ROI perspective.

Taking a few minutes to run Ebay Monster (lite or full) could put thousands of pages on your blogs.  Sure by the time you get visitors the ‘auction’ they are looking at is gone – but once they click through to ebay – guess what?

They are going to keep looking.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now – and even new blogs are making a few cents a day.  It’s enough that I don’t have to be all commercial all over the place. I make a category – put in the related products from ebay and move on.

(hint – want to be really sneaky?  There are a few plug ins for wordpress that let you exclude categories from showing up on the front page. So you have a blog that appears 100 percent white hat – with a few thousand extra ‘product’ pages. — do a google search for “exclude pages plug in”.)

Ninja Swords <— That’s a great example of how great this works.  He didn’t flood his blog with thousands of pages  – and just added some great relevant content Ninja Sword content that his visitors ARE interested in.

(greg – assuming you don’t mind the link since you referenced it in the comments)

SEnuke – Had to Pass… BUT…

August 16th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Online Tools

As I posted previously I was taking SENUKE for a little spin during the 7 day free trial.  Overall it seems to be in pretty active development (which is a good thing).

However, I have the same problem with this tool as I do with my own — to many variables, to many places to deal with.  It’s a GREAT way to promote my ‘black hat’ sites – but it’s not something I even want to use for the foundations.  I probably could use it for them and be more than fine but I’ve already got my own systems in place for that.

I’ve also got my own methods for getting links – so this ends up being overkill once combined with those.

So for me – it’s overkill.  For someone else starting out – it’s probably going to help you promote your foundations and black hat sites.
